“Doctoral student Klejdis Bilali was honored with the ACJS Victimology Section Outstanding Graduate Student Award for her contributions to research in the field of victimology. Additionally, fellow PhD student Emily Walker was selected to participate in the ACJS 2025 Doctoral Summit and received a mini-grant to travel and present her work on youth commercial sexual exploitation in Texas.”


“In 2023, the TIP Lab was declared the main statewide repository through which all trafficking data would be reported. Now, TIPSTR can evaluate this statewide data through an aggregate that was mostly absent from systems made to combat human trafficking in the state. “


“TIPSTR was made possible by funding from both the state of Florida and the federal government. The TIP Lab received $750,000 from the 2024-25 state budget to develop and operate the statewide human trafficking data repository. U.S. Representative Kathy Castor was also able to secure nearly $1 million for TIPSTR from the 2024 federal spending package.” 


“TIPSTR is groundbreaking for the anti-trafficking efforts in Florida,” Reid said. “By providing data-driven insights, we will be able to better inform policy and resources.”
